ImageAUDIT is an automated preflight utility that produces comprehensive reporting on image file technical properties.  You'll need Photoshop 8-11, on either Mac or PC.

    * Reports on file size, bit depth, color space- almost 30 readings in all
      (some not available in Photoshop 8)
    * No changes are made to the original image file
    * Reports can be opened in any spreadsheet program
    * Reveals important information you can't  get by looking at the image
